Urquhart Farms Ltd. was started by Marion and Roger Urquhart in 1956. It was this farm that they welcomed their son Gary home too. Gary, along with his wife Maria, continued the farm business by raising pigs and cattle. Gary and Maria grew the Urquhart family with two boys, John and Greg. John continues to work on the farm with Gary doing custom work, including planting, baling, and harvesting. John also took interest in the machinery of farming and offers farm equipment repair services. Greg took interest in the environmental aspects of rural living and currently works at a local conservation authority. 
 
In 1998, the Urquhart family started producing maple syrup. Working together on the family farm, they grew the maple syrup business from 500 taps to over 3000 taps. Their syrup can be found in many retail locations across southern Ontario. Bottling and delivering syrup is where you will find Tawnya, John’s partner, and Chelsey, Greg’s wife, helping Maria get this sweet product into your hands
